Megger PAM420 Multifunction Phase Angle Meter

The Megger PAM420 Multi Function Phase Angle Meter is designed for use on electrical power systems and can measure parameters including phase angle, voltage (500V AC/DC), current (25A AC), frequency (15 to 75Hz) and trigger time. Phase angle measurement can measure the angle between two power signals whether they are both current, both voltage or one of each. The maximum current input is 25A and the maximum voltage is 500V and this wide range can be further expanded by using additional current transformers. Phase angle readings are highly precise with a resolution of just 0.1˚ and these impressive capabilities make the meter suitable for checking polyphase metering installations, testing protective relays, making comparative tests in electrical substations and verifying the phase angle deviation on power transformers. The timing function on the Megger PAM420 can be used for testing contact or voltage trips. Results are shown on the Megger PAM420’s backlit 5-line display which is capable of showing phase angle, both input values and both input frequencies simultaneously in real time. Despite being compact and lightweight, the meter is still ruggedly built in order to withstand the rigours of regular use in substations and other industrial environments. Rechargeable batteries further enhance portability and the instrument is provided with test leads, a charger and a transport case.
